I always enjoy reading about your process of photography.

That's good to hear. I wouldn't be nearly as aware of my process if I didn't write about it. It forces me to think about what I am doing, and why.

I have always found capturing passerbys in a frame to be strangely rewarding. I ask myself, what does it say? I can never answer, but i still do it. I think the isolation of the human form is the answer. I also find reflections similarly satisfying. I like the double exposure aspect. Reflections are also a great way of warming up one's camera to people. You can capture them initimately with your back turned to them and slowly turn around over time and eventually face them. It's s great way to accustom yourself to the locale.

Those are very useful observations, Mark. I especially like your idea of photographing people in reflections first and gradually facing them directly.

Thanks for leaving a comment, Christina. Do you engage with the people you photograph on the street?

Yes. Every time. It is only through connecting with them, their fears, their hopes, their desires that I get a sense of the direction my editing will take when I open their image on my computer. My goal is to draw out a sense of themselves in the final image I then share. My primary subjects are Street people. For most of them, the image I share provides a view far more positive than that which they currently hold of themselves. And I am so touched with the quiet Joy that spreads across their faces as they view it. Thanks for asking.

I’ve been questioning the expectation that street photography is (by most definitions) candid. I’ve been changing my own practice as a result. Do you post your photos anywhere online?

Nice shots, Mark. The shadow (53c?) looks diabolical. The woman passing the shop looks creepy too, somehow.
