The daffodils are so beautiful. We're at the opposite end of the season spectrum up here, with summer just about over and fall crashing in quickly. But our daffies will wake up in seven months...

Thanks, Jeannine. I suppose, somewhere in the world, flowers are always blooming.

That was my first thought - we're on opposite ends of the season spectrum! It's amazing to see daffodils elsewhere in the world 😍

I love how you have contrasted the yellow with other colours, such as the road sign and the ambulance. Of course red is also a great contrast.

Thanks, William. I’m drawn to strong colours. Somehow, black and white really suits the places you photograph and the stories you tell. I love your post about the bus depot.

I really like what you've done here, the daffodils offset by the vehicles behind is a great idea.

Thank you, Les. It’s not something I could have planned in advance. It only occurred to me after I was there for a while.

I really like how you’ve composed these with the traffic in the background. Very creative and original and it takes the images from being “just another photo of flowers” to something more dynamic.

Thanks, Mark. I thought the trucks were necessary, not just to satisfy the street photography focus, but to add colour contrasts and visual interest.

I love your recent diptychs. Your photos work really well in black and white, especially in the grittier parts of Toronto.

Thanks, Mark. Black and white is usually my preference unless an image screams to be seen in colour.

Don’t you have any native flowers left in Dunedin

Ha! I’m sure we do. I don’t think we have as many native flowers as we do shrubs and trees, but I’ll check on that.
